
Prior to joining the SAA, Chirag served as the Director of Information Security at the U.S. House of Representatives under the Office of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) since May 2018. As the Director, he led cybersecurity, audit, and compliance initiatives for a team of over 50 personnel and provided direction on matters of cybersecurity for an organization of 21,000 endpoints across 34 Risk Management Framework systems and four data centers. End customers of this domain consisted of Members of Congress and support staff on the main campus of Capitol Hill as well as District offices throughout the United States.
Chirag began his federal career providing technical support and cybersecurity expertise to the Supreme Court of the United States. He provided contracting cybersecurity support to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services before moving back into the federal space, working as the Chief Information Security Officer of the Congressional Research Service under the Library of Congress. Having worked for all three branches of the federal government, he will finally “hit for the cycle” of federal employment by moving from the House to the Senate.
Chirag holds a Master’s Degree from Georgetown University in Culture, Communications and Technology and two Bachelor of Science Degrees from the University of Maryland in Finance & Information Systems Management. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Project Management Professional (PMP). In his free time he likes working out and being active. He has hiked Machu Picchu and traveled the fabled Ring Road in Iceland. And he loves having experiences with his family and friends.
