General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems
Nadia D. Short is vice president and general manager for the Cyber and Intelligence Solutions Division of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. She leads a diverse organization that delivers comprehensive cybersecurity mission solutions to defend large enterprise and national networks and critical infrastructure for defense, intelligence, homeland security communities and commercial customers.
Prior to her current role, she served as the vice president of strategy and business development for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. In this role, she was responsible for the company’s strategic planning, business development, technology and innovation, marketing and public relations, customer and corporate relations, as well as its philanthropy program. Previously, Ms. Short led the creation of the Cyber Systems Division for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems and served as its vice president and general manager. Ms. Short has worked for General Dynamics since 1996.
Prior to this, Ms. Short was director of strategy and business development for the information assurance division of General Dynamics C4 Systems. Ms. Short also served as director of emerging business for the communications networks division where she led the successful business capture initiatives for the Automated Digital Networks System INC III with the U.S. Navy, the Warfighter Information Network – Tactical with the U.S. Army, and the Key and Identity Management INC II for National Security Agency.
Before joining General Dynamics, Ms. Short served in the Army for 14 years. She was a Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Army Signal Corps where she was in charge of the planning and operation of tactically deployed secure voice and data networks. In 1991 she was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for her service in Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
Ms. Short’s degrees include a master of business administration and a bachelor’s of science degree in Computer Information Systems.
Ms. Short serves on the Board of Our Military Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides grants to the children of deployed National Guard and Military Reserve personnel and to the children of the severely injured service members for sports, fine arts and tutoring. She is a member of numerous professional organizations including Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA), Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA), Association of Old Crows (AOC), and National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).
Scott Totzke
Senior Vice President, BlackBerry Security Group, BlackBerry
Scott Totzke is responsible for maintaining a consistently high standard for the security of BlackBerry products and services, and helping to shape BlackBerry’s regulatory compliance, lawful access and privacy strategies on a global scale. His organization includes accountability for full security lifecycle management ranging from design and implementation to in life response to customer issues and concerns.
He founded and directs the BlackBerry Security teams that have made the transparency of its security solutions BlackBerry’s single biggest differentiator in enterprise and consumer markets. BlackBerry solutions continue to lead the mobile industry in certifications and security approvals, meeting the strict requirements of government and other security conscious organizations.
Scott acted as Director, Government Technology, establishing BlackBerry’s security certifications program, before formalizing security product management, security response, and security research organizations and founding a lawful access practice as SVP, BlackBerry Security. Prior to joining BlackBerry in 2001, he was senior consultant with EDS, and built technical expertise and leadership experience in network security/architecture and database design roles over 10 years as a system developer and network architect.
