Kathy Winger is a business, corporate, real estate, banking and data security attorney who represents companies, banks, credit unions and individuals in commercial and corporate transactions. She has more than 15 years of experience as an attorney in the private sector practicing business, banking, regulatory, compliance, real estate and consumer and commercial lending law. Prior to entering private practice, she served as in-house counsel to the credit card division of a national bank and financial services company for 5 years.
Kathy frequently give presentations addressing cybersecurity issues for businesses and has spoken about the topic to CFO’s, financial executives, lawyers, insurance brokers, business owners and technology professionals. Groups that she has spoken to include Financial Executives and Associates of Tucson, National Bank of Arizona Women’s Financial Group, Automotive Service Association, Arizona Technology Council, Northern Trust Bank, Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (Tucson Chapter), Crest Insurance Group, the Small Business Development Center and the Pima County Bar Association.
Kathy also spoke about “Cybersecurity and Cyber Breaches from Your Business Lawyer’s Perspective” at the Enfuse cybersecurity conference in Las Vegas (May 2017) and at the Interface cybersecurity conference in Phoenix (June 2017). She will speak on this topic as a solo presenter at the RSA Conference in San Francisco (April 2018) and will participate in a panel discussion entitled “Handling Cybersecurity and Data Breaches” at the International Wireless Communications Expo in Orlando (March 2018).
Kathy has written articles on cybersecurity, which have been published in Bloomberg BNA’s Broker Dealer Compliance Report and Bloomberg BNA’s Data Security and Privacy Report. She has been interviewed about cybersecurity for business owners for articles that been published in Inside Tucson Business and the Arizona Daily Star and for a radio spot on WKQTH, Tucson. She has also appeared several times to discuss cybersecurity matters on the Bill Buckmaster Radio Show, which is broadcast on KVOI 1030.
Kathy has written and been interviewed for articles on banking and business topics that have been published in and has been in the Credit Union Times.
Kathy is the Executive Vice President of the Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America Catalina Council, where she also serves on its Enterprise Risk Management and Marketing Committees. She serves on the Advisory Board for the National Bank of Arizona Women’s Financial Group and have served on the Grant Allocation Committee of the Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona for the several years. She also volunteers for SCORE as a speaker and as a mentor and is a member of the Better Business Bureau and the Metropolitan Pima Alliance.
