Jon Whitman is the Principal Sales Manager for IBM Security in the IBM Federal market. He is responsible for setting the strategy, direction and go to market execution of the sales teams to meet revenue targets who are providing cyber security solutions to address customer challenges.

In his more than 17 years at IBM he has held positions as the Director of Worldwide Sales, Safer Planet/i2, North America Business Unit Executive for Information Integration & Governance, the US Federal Regional Brand Lead for Information Management as well as selling Rational software products directly to the Law Enforcement and Intelligence community and their supporting Federal Systems Integrators.

Before joining IBM, Jon worked for various software vendors in multiple capacities including sales, marketing, business development, and technical engineering and management positions. Jon supported both Federal government agencies worldwide and Fortune 500 companies in the areas of Enterprise Search, Knowledge Management, Information Management and Software Development Lifecycle. He has in-depth experience in broad areas of technology spanning the information technology enterprise. Additionally, he has enjoyed an entrepreneurial background starting and running several small businesses in the entertainment industry.
