Mr. Dave Hogue is currently serves as the Technical Director for the NSA’s Cybersecurity Threat Operations Center (NCTOC), a dynamic, national-level entity that serves at the forefront in the fight against malicious cyber activity through integrated cybersecurity operations. Previously, Mr. Hogue was the Technical Director of the Analysis Group within the National Security Agency (NSA) Threat Operations Center (NTOC), charged to deliver vital threat intelligence across a multitude of threat actors and technologies. While in this position, Mr. Hogue also served as a corporate officer, leading agency-wide efforts such as NSA’s response in delivering foundational technical analysis and attribution of the 2014 Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) computer network attack (CNA).
In December 2014, he concluded an 18 month tour as a Director of Cybersecurity Operations (DCO) in the 24*7*365 NTOC Operations Center, where his cyber expertise and results-oriented leadership forged optimal execution of NSA offensive and defensive missions across the enterprise. Prior to the NTOC DCO position, Mr. Hogue spent a year in the Tailored Access Operations (TAO) Remote Operations Center (ROC), standing up a new team focused on capability development that transformed TAO’s initial access mission.
Prior to joining NSA, Mr. Hogue spent nine years in Industry, including time supporting the J3 in the US Cyber Command predecessor, Joint Task Force Global Network Operations (JTF-GNO). He transitioned to NSA civilian employment in 2009, where he has held multiple technical leadership positions and been at the forefront of NTOC’s interagency efforts to protect DoD and USG networks from cyber threats. Mr. Hogue has received numerous awards, including the Meritorious Civilian Service Award (MCSA), and was elevated to the Senior Executive Service rank in 2014.
