Ben joined the team in 2020 after serving for five years as director of IT engineering and DFIR team leader at URM Stores Inc., a food distributor cooperative owned by retail grocers. While there, he built a talented and effective enterprise security and technology engineering team from the ground up to implement security, network, and storage solutions. He also led incident response, ediscovery, and forensic analysis matters for the organization.
Prior to URM Stores, Ben was project manager and senior network engineer at T2 Technology Group, an IT consulting firm, where he managed a multimillion-dollar network upgrade at a major regional hospital.
Before that, Ben spent six years at Coldwater Creek, a nationwide clothing retailer where he managed the IT operations center and served earlier as an enterprise network architect with responsibilities that included design and support of Open Shortest Path First (“OSPF”) and Border Gateway Protocol (“BGP”) routing configurations in support of an infrastructure with three data centers and nearly 5,000 systems.
Earlier, Ben held a series of network/telecommunications engineering and support positions at companies including World Wide Packets, and both Cherokee Info. Services and Prosoft where he held a Top Secret U.S. government security clearance in support of a Joint Forces Command agency. He began his career as a network engineer for the U.S. Navy, where he managed and supported classified and unclassified LANs. Ben has held a number of certifications earlier in his career including the Cisco Certified Network Professional (“CCNP) and Cisco Certified Network Associate (“CCNA”).
