A deep-rooted problem solver with a background in technology and finance, Ken Carnesi (35) serves as Founder and CEO of DNSFilter, an internet security provider that uses artificial intelligence to protect enterprise organizations and their users from online threats. His dissatisfaction with previously available security options for clients under his ISP business, led him to recognize the need that then became DNSFilter.
While attending Boston College and working in institutional equity sales and trading at Prudential, Ken started Anaptyx, a wireless internet service provider that he successfully grew into a multi-million-dollar operation over 11 years. In 2008, Anaptyx won the Cupid’s Cup at the University of Maryland Smith School of business, earning Carnesi and his team mentorship and investment from Under Armour Founder Kevin Plank. The business also scored a top position in the Boston College Venture Capital Competition (BCVC) and allowed Carnesi to get named twice in EMPACT’s 2009 and 2010 “30 under 30” initiative. Later on, in 2017, he left his daily role at Anaptyx to grow DNSFilter.
In 2018, through DNSFilter, Ken earned entrance and successfully graduated the prestigious Techstars Accelerator program, which he considers to be one of the most transformative experiences of his life.
Today, DNSFilter provides security services for nearly 10,000 organizations, including several Fortune 500 enterprises and operates the fastest and most extensive DNS content filtering network in the world.
