Matt is a Partner in the global division of the IBM cloud security consulting practice. He has worked with many large multinational organizations on Cloud migration strategies, readiness assessments, defining roadmaps and more high level security topics. With a particular emphasis on Financial Services, many of the clients that Matt has worked with have been heavily regulated and globally significant financial institutions. The range of projects has been from working on Cloud security maturity assessments to developing multi cloud roadmaps for 10’s of thousands of workloads to move to cloud. Matt has worked with asset management companies on complete cloud migration programmes as well as with global banks, media & entertainment and technology companies for the creation of a private cloud including workload assessments, business cases, tool and skills shopping lists. He has created large multi stage roadmaps to get clients from current to future states, allowing them to migrate workloads securely.
Matt is a frequent speaker at industry events both IBM’s own and as an invited guest for other industry bodies. He is a Fellow of the British and Irish Computer Society as well as a Chartered IT professional. Matt also sits on the board of ISACA as the Director for Academic Relations.
Prior to working at IBM Matt was the Global CISO for Daon Inc in Washington DC, a leading provider of cloud based Identity Assurance services. Other roles that Matt has held have been in consulting firms and also as a Government CISO.
Matts’ route into Information Security was from working in the UK Intelligence Service as a Cyber Security and Counter Terrorism Agent.
