Mark Scanlan is a Cyber Warrior with RedSeal Inc, a Cybersecurity Modeling and Risk Analytics company. In this capacity, he works with organizations to help define their security strategy, harden their defenses and increase their resilience in the case of a cyber-attack.
Mark brings 30+ years of experience in the IT field across operations, management, consulting and sales, including tenures with IBM, Fujitsu, Motorola, Microsoft & Cisco.
Originally from the UK, Mark moved from England to California in mid-90s, during the boom years of Silicon Valley.
Mark holds a B.S. in Computer Forensics & Digital Investigation and an M.S. in Information Security Operations in addition to a variety of industry certifications and now teaches online undergrad Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics related courses as an adjunct faculty member at Champlain College.
Outside of work Mark believes in “using technology for good”. While at Microsoft he worked informally with their Online Safety and Digital Crimes Unit. He volunteers his technical skills with the NH Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Taskforce, who battle online child exploitation along with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Mark currently lives in New England with his family. His wife of 20 years, Sarah, is a Realtor® and he has two children in elementary and middle school. He is a keen nature photographer, scuba diver (although not in New England), holds a commercial UAS (drone) license and is trying to learn to play the saxophone.
