Special Agent Timothy Swec is assigned to the Cyber squad in the FBI’s New Haven Field office. The squad is responsible for investigating both national security and criminal computer intrusions and other high-tech crimes that are in violation of U.S. federal law, and where prosecution of such violations would have venue within the District of Connecticut.
Tim has investigated computer crimes for the FBI for over 16 years, and prior to moving to New Haven was assigned to Cyber squads in the FBI’s Los Angeles and Indianapolis field offices. During 2014 and 2015, Tim was assigned to the FBI’s Cyber Division at FBI Headquarters, with program management responsibilities for the FBI’s criminal cyber efforts. In 2019, he served a 6-month assignment in the FBI’s Legal Attache office in Prague, Czech Republic, as the Cyber liaison to law enforcement partners in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
