Dan Lohrmann Chief Security Officer & Chief Strategist, Security Mentor, Inc. Dan Lohrmann is an internationally recognized cybersecurity leader, technologist and author. During his distinguished career, Lohrmann has served global organizations in the public and private sectors in a variety of executive leadership capacities, receiving numerous national awards including: CSO of the Year, Public Official of the Year and Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leader. Mr. Lohrmann is the Chief Security Officer (CSO) and Chief Strategist for Security Mentor, Inc. Security Mentor provides industry-leading security awareness training to organizations from Fortune 500 enterprises to state and local governments. Security Mentor, pioneer security awareness training employees love to take, uses interactive, highly engaging lessons to teach critical security skills in an easy-to-understand, fun format. Mr. Lohrmann leads Security Mentor’s executive and management services overseeing the development and implementation of Security Mentor’s cyber training, consulting and workshops for end users in the public and private sectors. Mr. Lohrmann has extensive experience advising senior leaders at the White House, National Governor’s Association (NGA), National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), federal, state and local government agencies, Fortune 500 companies, small businesses and non-profit institutions. Prior to Security Mentor, Mr. Lohrmann lead the State of Michigan’s cybersecurity and technology infrastructure teams serving as enterprise-wide CSO, CTO and CISO roles in Michigan. Mr. Lohrmann also oversaw the security awareness program for more than 50,000 employees. Under his leadership, the State of Michigan was recognized as a global leader in government technology and cybersecurity for more than a decade. The State of Michigan won numerous National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO) awards, including the 2013 Cyber Security award for the top security project in the nation – utilizing Security Mentor’s security awareness training as a cornerstone of Michigan’s Cyber Training 3.0 program. Mr. Lohrmann is also a writer, with regular columns, articles and blogs for many professional magazines, such as Government Technology Magazine, Public CIO Magazine, CSO Magazine, Computerworld Magazine and others. Dan has appeared on CSPAN, numerous national and regional radio programs, technology/security global webcasts and the evening news. He also serves on advisory boards on cybersecurity or Information Assurance (IA) programs at four universities. He is the author of two books – Virtual Integrity: Faithfully Navigating the Brave New Web, and BYOD For You: The Guide to Bring Your Own Device to Work. Mr. Lohrmann holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science (CS) from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Bachelor’s Degree in CS from Valparaiso University in Indiana.
