Network Defense Through the Eyes of the Cyber Attacker, Cyber Security in Healthcare/Pharma, and More
Learning from the viewpoint of bad actors and gaining insight on how they can successfully attack even a well-defended network is perhaps more relevant today than ever before, as these bad actors have become more advanced and threats continue to evolve. Drawing upon 17+ years of experience, Quinn Carman, Chief of The NSA Red Team led his popular Keynote Presentation “Looking Through the Eyes of the Cyber Attacker”, exclusively at the Official Cyber Security Summit this past year, providing an adversarial viewpoint to inform leaders how attackers see their organization’s network defense. Other critical topics such as Cloud Security, Insider Threat and Zero Trust have also become increasingly important, particularly since the pandemic. All of these current issues were covered in depth this past year at the Official Cyber Security Summit virtual series, which was honored to be able to connect tens of thousands of Industry Executives across the U.S. with Cyber Security Experts & cutting-edge solution providers from all over the world, providing a platform for discussion to learn how to combat the latest cyber threats and explore different solutions to help defend against cyber threats. Next year executives will once again have the opportunity to meet in person with their peers and industry experts from the region while still having the ability to connect virtually with leaders from across the globe at the all-new Hybrid 2022 Official Cyber Security Summit series. This transition back to gathering in-Person will mirror the intimate, invitation-only one-day events that the Official Cyber Security Summit mastered prior to the COVID-19 pandemic but will now also feature a virtual component to maintain some of he unique benefits virtual events offer, such as allowing executives who cannot attend in person or are unable to travel to the live event to join online from their home or office.
In addition to the security risks that became more prevalent as many companies made the shift to a remote workforce, something else that this past year and a half demonstrated with the increase in the frequency and severity of attacks on essential health networks is the importance of having strong cyber security controls & systems incorporated into the everyday operations of the healthcare sector. Telehealth, medical device security, and patient privacy are just a few of the industry-specific challenges that must be carefully considered and addressed by Healthcare Executives responsible for their company’s cyber security & protecting sensitive healthcare data. To offer an in-depth look into these risks and their implications for healthcare providers and their employees, the Official Cyber Security Summit has announced the launch a new sub-division, the Cyber Security Healthcare & Pharma Summit which will take place next year, featuring renowned Subject Matter Experts in the healthcare/pharma sector, leading cyber security experts from various U.S. Government agencies, and many more. Innovative providers leading in this space have already signed on to demonstrate their latest solutions & services, such as Check Point Software Technologies, ExtraHop Networks, Flashpoint, and ForeScout Technologies. The Healthcare & Pharma Summit will be hosted virtually for the Eastern U.S. on March 1, 2022 and for the Western U.S. on Sept. 29th, 2022. More details on this next-generation event are to follow. If you’d like to request to be added to the invitee list for the 2022 Official Cyber Security Summit series when registration opens or if you/your company would like to speak and/or exhibit, please contact Megan Hutton, Marketing Director, at MHutton@CyberSecuritySummit.com and reference the Cyber Security Informer.
