Michael Droz
Senior Executive Service Deputy Director of Operations US Southern Command
Mr. Droz, is the Deputy Director for Operations (J3), he assists the Director of Operations in directing all military operations in the Caribbean, Central and South America.
Mr. Droz served on active duty in the Air Force for more than 26 years, retiring as a colonel and the Deputy Commander, Space Warfare Center. He began his operational flying career in the F-111 and went on to fly the Royal Air Force Tornado, as well as the F-15E fighter aircraft. He is a graduate of USAF Fighter Weapons School at Nellis AFB, NV, and also served there as an instructor. He commanded the 414th Combat Training Squadron (Red Flag) at Nellis AFB, NV, and Detachment 3, 57th Wing (F-111 Weapons School/Operational Test and Evaluation) at Cannon AFB, NM. He was the Chief of Special Projects and the F-117 Program Manager, while assigned to the Directorate of Operations at Headquarters Tactical Air Command.
After service retirement, Mr. Droz worked for Oracle Corporation as Senior Manager, DoD long range and operations strategy. He later went to Raytheon as a Senior Manager for Special Projects in operations and strategy. Mr. Droz also served as a Special Advisor to the Commander, US Southern Command.
