I am a Partner in Thompson Hine’s Atlanta office. While my main focus is the success of my clients, a large part of my work centers around technology, cyber-security, economic development, and trade. I also partner with families and family businesses in the areas of legacy planning, stewardship and succession. I am a frequent lecturer and author, and have appeared in USA Today.com, FOX News.com, Compliance Week, Healthcare Risk Mgmt., Inside Counsel, Homeland Security Today, National Law Review, Sports Page Weekly, Law 360, AmLaw Daily, and many other publications; and on radio and television. At Thompson Hine, I co-chair the Government Services team and the Cyber Security/Privacy team. I also lead the Diversity and Inclusion Initiative. Additionally, I chair the board of the Information Security Society for the Technology Association of Georgia and I am on the Advisory Board for the National Technology Security Coalition, both of which give me valuable insight into the threats facing businesses worldwide. I also advise corporate boards on cyber related issues and compliance. Named a “Cyber-Security Visionary” by USBE Magazine, I was also named one of Georgia’s “Most Powerful and Influential Lawyers”; and was recognized by Legal 500 for my work in M&A and by Savoy Magazine as a “Top 100” lawyer. I was VP, General Counsel and Corp. Secretary of AirGate PCS. Prior to AirGate, I was VP, Corporate Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer of WorldTravel BTI and also worked with Turner Entertainment/Time Warner and MCI. Additionally, I acted as Special Counsel to the President of The American Bar Association. I am very active in the community and am an Eagle Scout.
