Elisabeth Maida

Elisabeth Maida Co-Founder & CTO Uplevel Security Elisabeth Maida is the co-founder and CTO of Uplevel Security, a cybersecurity company focused on automating incident response. Previously, she was a Senior Director at Akamai Technologies and served in multiple executive roles focused on technology strategy and new product development. She was instrumental in Akamai’s initial efforts in distributed application processing, DDoS mitigation, fraud detection, and mobile authentication. Her most recent work there involved analyzing how Akamai’s visibility into almost 30% of Internet traffic could be used to assess the security risk of end user requests. In addition to her work at Akamai, Ms. Maida is an active speaker on cybersecurity and Internet architecture design. She has spoken at various forums including the UN, the Berkman Center at Harvard University​,​ and the Computers, Freedom and Privacy conference. She has a B.S.E. from Princeton University and dual Masters degrees from M.I.T. Her graduate school research involved applying graph theory to network interconnection.
